Chelsea confident of Lukaku, Bakayoko deal

CHELSEA are confident about signing
Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko this
summer.Antonio Conte is keen to make big
signings after landing the Premier League
Conte is looking for around six new players
at Stamford Bridge and could ship as many
out with Diego Costa on his axe list.
The Blues boss has identified Everton
striker Lukaku as a replacement for Costa and
is also keen on playing Monaco’s Bakayoko
in midfield with N’Golo Kante.
And according to the London Evening
Standard, Chelsea are hopeful of finalising
deals for Lukaku and Bakayoko.
Everton will demand at least £70million
for Lukaku, who they bought from Chelsea
for £28m in 2014 after a successful loan spell.
Everton have been the early spenders in
the transfer market so far with boss Ronald
Koeman shelling out nearly £50m on
Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and
Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen.
And if Koeman wants to keep
spending big then Chelsea will be
happy to bolster their transfer budget
with a move for 24-year-old Lukaku.
Bakayoko, 22, is another top target
for Conte and is valued at around
£50m by Monaco.
Chelsea have already agreed terms
with free agent Willy Caballero after
he left Manchester City.
The goalkeeper is expected to arrive
at Stamford Bridge on July 1 and join
first summer signing Billy Gilmour
from Rangers.
Conte is also looking for a centreback,
having let John Terry leave.
He likes Virgil van Dijk but
Southampton have said in no
uncertain terms that he is not for sale.
Conte is a long-term admirer of
Juventus ace Leonardo Bonucci, who
he managed in Turin and for the
national team.
